1. Forest Lake Squad: Lifeguards

Location: Forest Lake (Ridgewood Lane)
Age Requirement: 16+
The Mission: Prevent, Protect, and Respond. Be the frontline of safety for every swimmer.

Shift Schedules

  • Full Day (Sat-Sun): 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (9 hrs)
  • Morning Shift: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (4 hrs)
  • Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM (5 hrs)

Key Responsibilities

  • Total Focus: Constant water scanning with 100% focus (no distractions).
  • Elite Communication: Use whistles and megaphones to guide swimmers.
  • Safety Ratio: Maintain a strict 20:1 swimmer-to-lifeguard limit.
  • Weather Watch: Lead the charge to clear the water during storms.
  • The Look: Red lifeguard bathing suit (provided by you); barefoot or sandals only on duty.
Perk: Get certified for free! We reimburse up to $300 for lifeguard certifications. Certification must be completed prior to your hire date.

2. First Face of Forest Lake: Gatekeepers

Location: Forest Lake (Ridgewood Lane)
Age Requirement: 16+
The Mission: Act as the "manager" of front-of-house operations and the first point of contact for our residents.

Shift Schedules

  • Full Day (Sat-Sun): 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Morning Shift: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Resident Expert: Verify IDs and registrations—Forest Lake is for Methuen residents only.
  • Logistics Lead: Handle daily ($10) and season ($50) pass payments via card or check.
  • Property Pro: Ensure the entryway, bathrooms, and picnic areas remain clean and welcoming.
  • Security: Monitor the boat ramp and roadway to prevent illegal parking.

3. Community Spark: Playground Leaders

Locations: CGS, Gill, and Marsh
Age Requirement: 16+
The Mission: Turn local parks into the ultimate summer destination through games, crafts, and sports.

Shift Schedules

  • Days: Monday – Friday
  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Perfect for keeping your afternoons free!)

Key Responsibilities

  • Activity Architect: Develop and lead age-appropriate games and arts & crafts.
  • Safety Supervisor: Ensure a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for all participants.
  • Mediator: Guide children on sportsmanship and social skills.
  • Liaison: Act as the professional point of contact for parents during drop-off and pick-up.

4. Step Up to Leadership: Playground Supervisors

Locations: CGS, Gill, and Marsh
Age Requirement: 16+
The Mission: Oversee site operations, manage staff, and ensure the safety of the entire park program.

Shift Schedules

  • Days: Monday – Friday
  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Supervise a crew of Playground Leaders and provide daily guidance.
  • Compliance: Oversee site welfare, manage injury reports, and coordinate rain-delay calls.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handle complex situations between staff, parents, and children.
  • Note on Hiring: Supervisors will be selected based on seniority of past years' playground employment.
