Step into the spotlight and get ready to shine!
Does your child love to perform, make-believe, or belt out a tune in the shower? We are looking for the next generation of stars to join our cast of The Little Mermaid Jr. (Grades K–8)!
Whether they are a seasoned pro or love playing pretend, this is their chance to bring a classic story to life. You do not need to register or pay until after auditions. Your little performer does not have to sing unless they’re auditioning for a lead! Also, joining the team is our Co-Director, Sheelagh Cook.
Our Audition Style: Stress-Free & Fun!
We know auditions can be a bit scary, so we’ve designed ours to be all about energy and encouragement. Here is what to expect based on your child's age and goals: For the Younger Kids (The "Repeat After Me" Method): We keep it simple! Younger performers won't need to memorize anything in advance. We will say a line, and they simply repeat it back with their best character personality.
Sample:
Director: "Look at this trove..."
Child: "...look at this trove!"
Director: "Treasures untold! . . "
Child: "...treasures untold!"
Director: "How many wonders can one cavern hold?"
Child: "...How many wonders can one cavern hold?"
Lead Role Hopefuls: If your child wants a lead role, come prepared to share a small snippet of your favorite song.
For Everyone: All auditions include a fun read-through of the script and learning some bouncy, easy-to-follow dance moves.
